The Great eHow Experiment
I find myself in a unique position right now of having nearly identical earnings on eHow for the last two months. In addition, I’ve had no activity there in terms of rating, commenting, or posting on the forums.
I think the time is right to see if what they say over there is true….
Does a persons ’social’ activity on eHow have any bearing at all on earnings??
Every day this month I’ll read, rate and comment on two articles. In addition I’ll also do one forum post.
It will be very interesting indeed to see if this has any effect on my earnings at all. I also want to see if this ’social’ activity is judged on a daily basis, averaged out over the month or what.
I already ’socialized’ yesterday morning so if it’s judged on a daily basis my earnings should be higher tomorrow.
If it’s averaged out however then I should see a steady increase over the course of the month.
If you look up top you’ll see a new page titled ‘The Great eHow Experiment’, I’ll be tracking my daily earnings there for the course of the month.
This should be very, very interesting indeed..

Nice idea, but it’s not a properly controlled experiment to get a true answer. But unfortunately you can’t control all the factors so this is about as good as you could do.
If your earnings go up, you won’t know for sure if it was the social activity or another uncontrolled factor (aging, backlinks being found, etc). However, if your earnings remain flat (or go down) then you can probably rule out any positive effect of socializing.
I have been wondering about this for a while now. I cannot wait to see the results.
So far so good, two days into June and I’ve done 4 RRC and two posts. No apparent effect on yesterdays earnings though…
I agree, my youngest article is over two months old so I assume most all ‘aging’ is done with. I’ve seen no increases last month so it seems to confirm this. Either way, if Junes numbers increase by a huge amount then it’s safe to say the ’socializing’ had an effect.
Any thoughts on how this went? Was all the socialising worth it in the end?
