Mid April 2009 Update

It’s just about half way through the month and it’s time to look at how well (or bad) I’m doing at this making money online thing..

Well, everything is pretty much as I expected.  eHow is on pace for about $200 for the month.  Adsense from InfoBarrel and Xomba continues to climb and Amazon is about the same as last month so far.

A bit of surprise is my Bukisa earnings have risen slightly over the last few days.  I think, and I really hate to say this, I might have a clue as to how to get some real income over there.  I might try something this weekend :)

I haven’t published an article on eHow for almost a month now as I continue to move content over to InfoBarrel to maximize my adsense income.  I’m almost finished with my first pass, moving over the most successful articles, later I’ll go back and move over my seasonal ones and the less profitable ones.

Oh, one thing I’ve already noticed is that even though an article may not make much on eHow, by choosing a different keyword it can be a real winner on IB.  One of my articles had 5 clicks in one day over there!

I should finish up moving stuff to IB in the next few days, then I’ll start doing the same at Xomba.  Hopefully by the end of the month I should have near 300 articles earning me adsense revenue.

Now, I was hoping to achieve an adsense payout this month but I’m not confident that’ll happen.  I’m sitting at about $50 total and right now I’m averaging about $1.50 a day, so it’ll be close indeed.

I would love to hear how other people are doing adsense wise.  I know a few of you out there have been concentrating on niche sites so I’m wondering if that is working out well.

How are you doing with the ongoing purge at eHow? I lost four (of 51) that make no sense at all. And, when you moved to IB I assume you rewrote the article? Anyway. I’m glad you are successful. Keep it up.

Funny you should mention that.. I lost three articles today. Three out of 141, so not that bad. I’m going to make a post on this tomorrow because personally I think they are making a mistake, specifically what’s ‘actionable’, laying out a thought process is actionable, especially when explaining a complicated process. Anyway, just proves my point even more, get your articles on multiple sites because who knows what’s going to happen tomorrow.

Oh, forgot to mention. When I write on IB I use my original eHow article as a guide. It’s safe to say that the original and IB article are absolutely different articles and not duplicate content.

I have been averaging about $4 a day on Adsense lately. Most of this income is from articles I have on Xomba.

I keep saying I am going to concentrate on niche sites but then I’ll start earning more from my writing for content sites; and, it seems too tempting to stop.

But the eHow purging is getting to be a bit much for me. I’m pretty sure I will be working on the niche sites exclusively starting in May.
